About Ralph Davis & the Rainbow Spirit Healing Mandala

The Rainbow Spirit Healing Mandala symbolizes your spiritual self identify.  “Mandala is a Sanscrit word meaning “sacred circle” of wholeness and holiness that generates energy.

In 1965 Ralph Davis designed his first mandala from toothpicks and his mother’s yarn as a mobile for his newborn daughter. His art designs are both contemporary and traditional and come alive when completed.

Ralph Davis was born in Chinle, Arizona. His mother is from the Mississippi band of Choctaw and his father’s Navajo clan is the Yeii Dineh Ta Chii Nii, meaning “Rainbow Spirit People”.  The Rainbow Spirit People are spiritual beings of light who traveled the earth upon the rainbow to help the surface people plagued by hunger, poverty, disease, and premature death.

The purpose of the Rainbow Spirit People is to help suffering people to understand their true spiritual nature. When their earthly work is completed, the Rainbow Spirit People return to the spirit world upon the other half of the rainbow, making a complete circle, and returning again when needed. Ralph uses the face of a yeii bii chai - spiritual leader, a spiritual protector, a spiritual provider and a spiritual healer - as the painted center of his mandalas.  Radiating from this wooden center are spokes intricately woven with rainbow colors into sacred geometric designs that vibrate with healing energy.

As he is weaving, Ralph knows that the designs are inspired and created for a specific owner having a specific need:  The power of each mandala’s design elevates the consciousness of the person to change the perception of his/her self-identify.

Each mandala is blessed with cedar smoke and eagle feather for the intention of the owner. The message of the mandala is to accept the perfection of the Creator within us that is wellness.  Through Ralph’s work, this teaching is being given to others seeking wholeness and holiness.
